Keep Webb Walker in your thoughts

Colorado DE Nikhil Webb Walker has been diagnosed with lymphoma, which was announced during a team meeting this week by Deion Sanders.

In a YouTube video posted by Well Off Media Friday, Sanders brought Webb Walker in front of the team, where he informed the group that he’s been fighting cancer and that’s why he has been away from the team.

Webb Walker initially kept his diagnosis to himself and Colorado’s staff, as he didn’t want to affect the team’s focus during the season.

“I tried to keep [the diagnosis] under wraps because I didn’t want it to be a distraction to the team,” said Webb Walker in front of his teammates. “I wanted to see how you boys do, what you all do, and just keep winning — conference championships, bowl game, national championships. That’s why I’ve kept it under wraps.”

Deion refuted the notion that Webb Walker’s cancer diagnosis is a distraction, offering tremendous support to his player.

“First of all, you’re never a distraction,” said Sanders. “You’re a blessing, and you allow us to understand what life really is... What you’re dealing with is real, and the way you’ve dealt with it is just admirable. We love you, we appreciate you, we’re here for you.”

Webb Walker will undergo a round of chemotherapy but described his condition as “very treatable”.

Buffs Nation, you know the drill. Make sure to send as much support as you can to Webb Walker. Here are links to his Twitter/X and Instagram if you want to send him well wishes and support.
