Colorado’s as healthy as could be
Fresh off a bye week, the Colorado Buffaloes are headed into their matchup against K-State almost completely healthy. The bye week couldn’t have come at a better time, as tonight’s game is the most important game this program has played in nearly a decade.
Safety Shilo Sanders will make his return to action tonight after missing a month due to a broken forearm he suffered against Nebraska. Sanders underwent surgery to repair the broken bone and rehab over the last four weeks and is finally healthy enough to get the start against the Wildcats. During warmups, Shilo wasn’t wearing any sort of cast or brace on his arm, which is a great sign.
Along with Sanders, offensive lineman Kahlil Benson will return after missing the UCF game with an undisclosed injury. Benson has been a pivotal piece of Colorado's improved offensive line this season, so his return is welcome.
The only starter for Colorado who will be out tonight is defensive end Dayon Hayes. Hayes suffered an undisclosed injury ahead of the UCF game and missed action in Orlando, marking this as the second consecutive game he’s missed due to injury. Colorado DE coach Vincent Dancy described Hayes as “a little gimpy” during his Wednesday media availability, but said he’s progressing well.
Wide receiver Cordale Russel was suited up and warming up ahead of tonight’s contest. The TCU underwent surgery before the season, but looks set to make his Buffaloes debut against K-State.
Kickoff is in around 20 minutes, so get excited Colorado fans! This team is healthy and ready to go! Sko Buffs, let’s beat the Wildcats!
