[h=3]Rivals.com: Hawaii Picked to Win WAC[/h]Rivals has a good look at the WAC and the Buffs' first opponent Hawaii. The Warriors return QB Bryant Moniz who threw for over 5,000 yards a year ago but will have to replace both starting receivers, all five starting offensive linemen and it's starting running back. The Warriors, on paper, look solid on defense though.
BEST OFFENSIVE PLAYER: Hawaii QB Bryant Moniz. When he was a recruit, the Warriors declined to offer Moniz a scholarship twice, once out of high school and again of out of junior college. Moniz decided to walk-on, and more than 7,400 yards and 53 touchdowns later, Moniz is safely on the roster. He was the nation's only 5,000-yard passer last season, his first as the full-time starter. Hawaii will continue to throw the ball at a high rate, but Moniz has some challenges. First, his top two receivers are gone, and the replacements are untested. Second, his mobility will be tested with every starter on the line gone for at least part of the season (T Austin Hansen is ineligible because of an NCAA issue).

That's not saying much being able to beat out Utah State, Idaho, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State, and San Jose State. Nevada and Fresno State are solid teams though.

Yeah, Hawaii is the clear favorite with Nevada likely to have a big time drop off with Kaepernick gone along with a bunch of other losses. Fresno hasn't finished better than 2nd in the WAC in 12 years, so maybe they're overdue. Regardless, the schedule this year is honestly ridiculous. To not be able to replace Cal and then go and add a roadie at Ohio State instead of a creampuff with just 5 home games locked up is questionable on Bohn's behalf. We're trying to ****ing rebuild here...
