Seaton in the portal

Seaton has a tiny head

Someone said Seaton got $4.25M x 2 years if he stays for both years at LSU. That is just below NFL Top 20 pick rookie deals. Also folks are leaking that he was a bad leader last year, which I hope was not true, but good luck to him and his uncle

I would just like to point out that he is not parked in a handicap stall - it would have blue stripes on both sides.
OT: about 1978, my friend Slippery Jake bet me he could talk Pelican Pete's into doing their parking lot with 'sea-blue' stripes. I lost the bet.

If black families cared about this more than $$$, the SEC would be a G5 league
Each kid has to do what he has to do, but it confuses me that so many black players chose to go to states that have clear goals of restricting black voting, economic opportunities, etc. Seems very short-sighted to me. An ACLU newsletter headline about Seaton's new home:

Louisiana’s Black Voting Power is on the Line in Redistricting Fight

He is getting $4 mil and that is probably $2mil more than in Boulder to play a season of college football, while maybe attending some classes. I don't think he is worried about his economic opportunities being restricted, and I'm gonna assume that he is not making LA his permanent residence so probably not really worried about voting in any LA elections.

It's 4.25m each year

Thanks for lmk... I read the post above wrong. That is a huge bag, so I feel better in his departure. @4BienemyTDs I concur our max had to be about $2M, if not outright letting him go for necessary flexibility in flipping the roster. So many positions needed a NIL infusion. Those are tough decisions and we do not have the funny $$$ that some teams have. LSU made an $8.5M investment. The only way for CU is if they found a homerun outside NIL supplement deal for JS, akin to the life size cutouts of SS at all the Conoco gas stations prepping gatoraid. For CU, $2M is massive pay for a LT and he was not 1st team all-B12 last season. I do think CU would have scrounged up the $2M to honor it's overall commitment to JS.

I wish JS well in his next step and hope that it works out for him in the SEC. He gave us two good years. In the end, I can't really fault a player that more than doubled his pay, locking up $8.5M over 2 years. Could he have left on better terms, perhaps but we don't know what the conversations were with Prime, if any. With Prime being a player's coach, it would not surprise me if Prime told him to chase the $$$, if that is what he desired. We were simply outbid and $4.5M/yr for CU's starting LT is just too steep. We will overcome this loss. Over-time hopefully JS can mend fences with Prime and Co, his teammates and fans. If he is at LSU for a one year stop, hopefully he reflects back fondly on his CU time and presuming he is an early round NFL pick, he says "Colorado" in his league introductions. If he is at LSU for 1 yr, unless he somehow already graduated, he might need to come back to CU later and finish his degree. Unless he vastly improves run blocking, he may stay the full 2 years, since $4.5M is close to what he will be paid as a rookie. Funny $$$, but sort of makes sense given the average career span in the NFL is 3.3 years.
