After losing to the Kansas Jayhawks in their first ever Big 12 Tournament semi-finals, the Colorado Buffaloes are now at the mercy of the NCAA selection committee and there is nothing to do but wait. Sunday at 4:00 p.m. the Buffs will find out if they are heading to the NCAA tournament and since the odds are pretty strong that they are, where exactly they will begin play next week.
Most of the pundits have Colorado firmly in the dance, some as an eleven seed and some as a part of the new "first four". A resume consisting of wins over Kansas State (3 times), Texas and Missouri. They were 4-3 against the top 25 according to RPI, which is pretty damn impressive. Working against the Buffs are a few too many bad losses and one of the worst non-conference schedules in the country.
All this amounts to a stressful day for fans of the Buffaloes, one that would turn extremely disappointing if they were somehow left out of the tournament. Consider this your open thread as we witness Colorado become a participant in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003.
Go BUFFS!!
