Looks like it's going to me a nice toasty day for some soccer today, as the Buffs host Northwestern at Prentup Field, with the match scheduled for a 1:00 start.

About the Wildcats (From the preview (http://www.cubuffs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=600&ATCLID=210332494) previously linked to in this thread)-

COLORADO VS. NORTHWESTERN: The Buffaloes and Wildcats will face off for only the second time on Sunday with the two teams playing to a 2-2, double-overtime draw back on Sept. 2, 2012.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS: Northwestern is 4-1-1 on the season and plays at Colorado State on Friday before visiting Boulder. The Wildcats have earned four clean sheets as they opened their 2015 campaign with three consecutive shutout victories. Their defense has only allowed two goals while goalkeeper Lauren Clem has logged all 560 minutes between the posts. Junior Addie Steiner leads the team with six points on two goals and two assists. Sophomore Maria Fayeulle also has a pair of goals.

Note- After the above was written (per their website), Northwestern earned a 2-1 win over the Rams on Friday.

Match has begun. (Looks like Hogg and Orejel still out with injury for the Buff's back line.)

No score at the half.

Best/ only massively threatening shot in the half was probably a header by Northwestern on a corner kick that was well and hard struck from ~10 yards out, but thankfully went right to our goalie Scheele who showed great hands to hold on and avoid a rebound.

Buffs seem to be just missing on their connecting passes in the final third, a few of which could have led to something.

Also, with the heat and it being the 2nd match of the weekend for both teams, LOTS of subbing going on for both teams. Even Brie Hooks was taken out at the ~35 minute mark for a very rare first half break for her.

We're going to overtime.

Northwestern almost got an easy point blank shot breakaway shot with 5 seconds left, but Madi Krauser came up huge to come back and kick the ball out.
