Thought I'd just start this thread for updates and news in anticipation of this Monday's NCAA tournament selection show for the soccer Buffs.

As originally noted by MarkW in the Utah match thread, the selection show is at 2:30 MT this coming Monday. It is being live streamed, and a link to the stream should be available at http://www.ncaa.com/liveschedule/2016/11/07 sometime before the start.

Obviously, after a great 2nd finishplace Pac-12 by the team, there is NO question that they WILL BE in the tournament, so it's more questions of
(1) whether they'll get to host any match(es),
(2) what team the Buffs will be playing in the 1st round, and
(3) what later match-ups MIGHT be on the horizon IF they can get through the 1st round.

Well, looks like the Buffs get to host in the 1st round against Oklahoma State, with the winner likely to face NCAA #3 ranked South Carolina in the 2nd round. GO BUFFS!!!

EDIT- Actually, it's South Carolina's RPI that was #3; they were ranked #2 in the country in the last poll (behind West Virginia). Assume they may fall a little in the next poll (out later today or tomorrow?) as they suffered their 1st lost sometime in their conference championships.

Preliminarily, Coach Sanchez saying the match is Saturday at noon, and he says the forecast is for a beautiful 70 degree day!

Very happy to see them hosting a first round game. Who knows anything about Okie St?

Just going off of what's online, they finished the season 9-8-3 (3-4-1 in Big12) which was good enough for 6th place. They were ranked #55 in RPI and unranked in the coaches poll. They're best win was a 3-0 victory over #34 RPI ranked TCU. They also tied against #23 RPI ranked Kansas. This looks like an easy match up for us and something would definitely have to go wrong to lose.

Nothing is easy when you got to the NCAA tourney! Can't take any match for granted.
