Stadium Upgrades

don't worry most of Franklin will still be there. They will probably take less than 20% of what is there now to build a nice practice facility over a parking structure. It will take that walkway from Folsom up to the field, the satellite area and where the recycling facility is the road will have to be moved.

I would like to see them link it up with the Dal Ward but most of Franklin can be kept if they move the garbage facility. Too bad we don't fill Folsom now so that they could build the facility in line with closing the north end zone.

There's no Pac12 Arms race. Oregon and Washington are good. Cal is getting a serious update. I've been to USC, UCLA, AZ, ASU, Utah, WSU and they all suck.

The Big12 was on a spending spree because they have no pro teams to compete with, plenty of $$$, and they need it to draw anyone to their sorry-arse towns to play there.

I gotta disagree with you on this. With the media contract bringing in tens of millions of dollars, each and every school is going to have more money than it's ever had before. They're going to want to spend that money. Some are going to go out and buy big name coaches. Others are going to build new facilities. Others already have both of those things (Oregon) and will just roll around in their money.

Stanford just rebuilt their stadium (in a single offseason), and they have their own version of Phil Knight/T. Boone Pickens in John Arillaga so they will never be wanting for money.

Phil Knight donates to Stanford as well. From Wiki:

A graduate of the University of Oregon and Stanford Graduate School of Business, he has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to the schools. Knight gave the largest donation in history at the time to Stanford's business school in 2006. A native Oregonian, he ran track for coach Bill Bowerman at the University of Oregon, with whom he would co-found Nike.

Let's see: Stanford just rebuilt their stadium. Cal is rebuilding theirs. Washington's is now in the process of a major overhaul. Arizona is in the process of major upgrades. Arizona State will be launching major renovations soon. Washington State will be launching major renovations soon. Oregon State recently completed major renovations. Utah's facilities are in great shape thanks to SLC '02.

There's a Pac-12 arms-race, and we had better get on board.

If Arrillaga's number were posted on Craigs List, ExxonMobile would be a suspect.
