Nope...prolly won't announce it til a week before....which sucks when you're entire trip is planned other than the most important portion!!!!
Fox Sports is listing a noon kickoff for FSU. I'm guessing a bar somewhere will open early for the 10am football crowd, but I hope this gets moved back later in the day.
I'm sure that's just a default listing that Fox Sports is showing because we would have heard about it in one of the local Denver/Boulder papers. Even the FSU website still has it listed as TBA.
Maybe they are trying to keep it flexible in case of hurricanes that might make travel crazy. Just an opinion.
please no 10 am kickoff, please no 10 am kickoff.
10 am kick off is terrible but would be noon there
Which is still terrible.
hey, that means 9am for the people to your west...juuuuust great.
10 am here in boulder like the CSU game last year and Nebraska it wasn't the greatest atmosphere it seemed too early.
Bar opens at 6am.
I guess the tailgate will include "blacky mary's" and "golden mimosa" :smile2:
 some of y'all have forgot (or have no idea) how oppressive the heat can still be this time of year at noon. hot and frikkin humid.
it was rainy and 90s today. breathed like a hot shower. yuck.
Won't the game's time depend upon what both FSU and CU's records are coming into the game?
I read on a FSU board that it could be a prime time game.
indeed. the hottest game i ever attended was the '94 CU/texas game in austin. it was oct 1st.
in flaaaarrraaadacool it does not cool off till mid oct and into november. now jax, with its more "northern" local may be a bit different from vero beach where my personal experience is but i doubt its much different.
i am thankful as hell that our seats at the miami game were underneath the overhang of the upperdeck. it was hot a **** that day.
i pray this will be a late day (5 or 6 pm) kickoff. the alumi party organizers usually do a good job of keeping the party area cool with tents and fans and such.
The hottest game I ever went to was the ASU game last year. 106 at kickoff. :wow:
That made the 2005 game in Miami seem downright comfortable by comparison.
That's definitely one of the things they're waiting on. Next week will be key as we have our game with WV and FSU plays Wake, but I think they're required to set the starting time by the early part of next week, which is before either of those games are played.
:yeahthat: it was like a ****in sauna in there.
At least with the ASU game you have Tempe and all the bars around the stadium for pre and post game. It the heat seem not as bad.
The Miami game was the worst. Hot, humid, and the area around the stadium sucks. There were live chickens in the parking lot of an apartment building next to the stadium, and some random guy tried opening our car door at a stop light yelling give him some money.
I would think the game would be pretty early since the Jags play the next day and the would need time to prep the field, clean, etc.
They're just waiting to see if ABC picks it up for the 330 ET telecast. Find out on Monday (I think).
It will be hot in Jax, even with the Ocean breeze and the river. 3:30 will be hotter than noon, unless the clouds roll in. dress in light weight gear you don't mind sweating in.
The best part of a 3:30 start is that it should be getting cooler as the game goes on.
:yeahthat: I'm gonna be in Vegas, and I really hate hanging out in a sports bar drinking goddamn bloody marys and eating hot wings for breakfast at 9AM... :sad1:
The Va Tech-fusker game is also on the 27th so either our game or that one will get put in the 3:30 slot as an ABC regional, but probably not both. The one that doesn't get the 3:30 slot will probably be pushed into an evening timeslot because they're both pretty attractive TV games.
When we went on for pregame it was 117 on the field. That plus wool band uniforms made that the most unbearable game conditions I've ever experienced. I don't think Jacksonville can touch that.
PS There will be a small pep band traveling to Jacksonville (which I get to be a part of). :woot:
Yah... I road tripped to that game and I have to say that I've never in my life been inclined to take off my clothes at a sporting event but the heat in that freaking stadium (coupled with the inebriation of the clothes wearer) made me feel like I was going to keel over if I didn't right then and there...
...and it's not a pretty sight when I start taking off my clothes I'll be the first to admit! But I had to use my t-shirt to wipe the sweat off my ass... tmi, yes I know.
