LAS VEGAS – The University of Colorado women’s tennis team continued to shine on day two of the 2013 USTA/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Region Championships on the UNLV campus with a pair of doubles wins, in addition to four singles victories on Thursday.

Senior Winde Janssens, juniors Julyette Steur and Ashley Tiefel, and freshman Nuria Ormeño Ruiz all were multiple winners on Thursday, each winning a singles and doubles match despite the rain that forced play to begin at 11 a.m. local time.

When the skies cleared, CU doubles took center stage as the seventh seed tandem of Janssens and Ormeño Ruiz edged Mayci Jones/Toby Miclat of BYU, 8-6. The CU pair received a first round bye and improved their fall record to 4-0.
