The bye week question

A lot has been made of the fact that WVU will come in here pissed as hell having lost to ECU.

I think there is a distinct possiblity that they are likely angry now and would be still if we played them this weekend....

BUT I think that the long lay-off may work against them. As time passes the anger could morph into self-doubt, loss of confience, or, in the very least, a less fiery disposition.

I know one thing, I can be really mad at my wife after a fight for a good few days or so, but after a while, it subsides....unless I have someone reminding me to keep fired up....

Do the WVU coaches have the ability to keep the fire stoked?

All I know is it comes at a good time for CU. Hopefully Head works his way back into the coaches good graces, we get Geer back and Hawk said that Jimmy Smith would play against WVU. If this OL can get their **** together, I think this team can be decent. The OL woes continue and this could get nightmarish in a hurry.

I have no idea what the WVU coaches are up to.

Yes, and I want them pissed so we get their best shot. That will be a true measure of how far we have come this year. They will be fighting to stay in the top 25.

I don't see why WVU would be any more pissed about their loss than CU is on their near loss to a FCS team. I expect both coaching staffs are chewing their players out this week.

I agree we get some key players back and I think there is some serious doubting going on right now among the fans and maybe the players that Bill Stewart isn't the guy there. Doubt is never a good thing. If Rich Rod was there, the players probably wouldn't doubt him but a lot is being said right now about Stewart's inexperience and the poor offensive scheme right now.

I like our chances in this game, I really have a good feeling about it and it will only get better as we get closer.

There are a lot of holes on this team that need to be addressed for this game.

I don't think the bye week helps or hurts either team more than the other. The fact that it's an away game for WVA will be more of a factor, IMO. Traveling in the middle of the week to altitude to play a team they've never seen before will be difficult for them.

I like CU's chances if the game is close in the 4th quarter. Let WVA jump out to a 21+ point lead in the first half, and we're toast.

21 point leads usually do mean toast.

Hopefully the csu game is the start of a winning streak at night games. Then again, csu was the weakest competetion Hawk has faced at night. And that was only really a half night game:sad1:

Ok, positive thoughts, positive thoughts.

To be fair, most of those other teams were pretty good when we played them, better then us at the time. I hope that that is changing...

Exactly what I was thinking...the Buffs should be just as fiery and anxious to get out there and prove their worth...and if you can't get up for a Thursday Night ESPN game, then you shouldn't be on the field
