The Politics that saved Hawkins...

Do they still allow beards in the Navy? My former brother in law was on the Constellation (I think). He had a gnarly beard,.

Weeeellllll, yes, but not for public view.

As a fundraising event for our Morale, Welfare, and Recreation fund (MWR - the fund that subsidized sailor activities that didn't have to do with drinking or strip clubs on port calls) we would fork over $5-10 for a "shave chit" which allowed us to grow beards/mustaches while underway. Conditions were you had to leave enough skin exposed to provide for an emergency air mask seal and if you were topside for any reason while we were surfaced, you had to shave off the beard. And finally - everybody had to shave the night before we pulled into port.

Is it really over 50%? I was under the impression it was a 60-40 split leaning toward in-state students?

It was around 50% when I was there from 90 to 94 and I think the Univ was trying to increase that percentage when the state capped the out of state number. The cap I've heard is 33% but I think thats for the whole system so having a higher percentage on boulder campus would not surprise me CUCS and CUD.

The healthcare campus is probably not factored in since thats a graduate program at best and really a service provider more than anything else. Im pretty sure the hospital is revenue positive.
