And that is what I got to hear down the hallway from his room for 9 months freshman year....he basically heard the same criticisms as he got here, but finally someone with a little clout shot him down.
Hey, at least we don't have kids hauling their fiances down the stairs by her hair AND have to put up with the 3-9 record. American Idol is way better than a felony.

He was on with Vic and Gary this morning. You know what, he's a 22 year old kid. You can tell he was nervous on Idol. He regrets coming across like he did but he said that is how he got to audition. Sounds like they screen people and only the ones they like get to do the actual audition. He also admitted that he is more about writing than he is about singing. But here is the thing that you guys should remember when you bash him: He said he absolutely loved his time at CU. So give him a break.
Did Simon mention that if Austin would have brought his lunchpail and got his horns out he would have made it to Hollywood?

My title was tongue in cheek obviously, but I really was cringing during the segment. However, I will say that TV, and editing specifically, has a way of making people look like douches.
Coincidentally, I see that Austin attended the Landon School in D.C. My cousin went there (and got booted...).
