A freshman linebacker from Wyoming, which plays Texas on Saturday, died Monday.

Ruben Narcisse, 19, was killed after a one-car accident while driving in Colorado just north of the Wyoming border early Monday morning, and three of his teammates were also injured.

The four were traveling in a Toyota Tundra when the driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

“We’re reaching out to our entire team and coaching staff,” said coach Dave Christensen, who also served as Missouri's offensive coordinator from 2001-08. “It’s a terrible tragedy, and a terrible loss. Our focus now is helping our team and staff deal with this tragedy and making sure the families of the young men involved know that we are here to support them in any way we can.”

That really is too bad, sad to hear. Thoughts for his family.

Let's go Cowboys, play with your hearts on your sleeve and kick some longwhores ass!

I realize RSS picked up the headline from a texas feed, but really ought to be about the Wyoming player, and not because he would have played TX in week two.

UW football player killed in car crash

CHEYENNE - University of Wyoming freshman linebacker Ruben Narcisse, 19, died early Monday morning in an automobile accident on U.S. Highway 287 south of Laramie.

Three other UW football players were in the vehicle: freshman receiver C.J. Morgan, 18, freshman cornerback Trey Fox, 19, and redshirt freshman linebacker J.J. Quinlan, 19.

Narcisse was the oldest of two children of Daniella and Lyonel Narcisse. He played high school ball at Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Fla.

As a parent, just heartbreaking to think of getting that phone call.

Former Eaglecrest HS player C.J. Morgan in hospital from the same crash, two other players treated and released.

Prayers for all and their families.

AJ - good call on the headline. I just fixed it.

I feel awful for everyone close to the situation. Really sad.
