Another thing about the ACC:

There's a real feeling of excitement surrounding the deal they have with Notre Dame. We may look at it differently, but they really view it as a major victory for themselves. Don't underestimate just how happy that made everyone.

Edit: As an old Big East fan, I'm just bitter.

Notre Dame definitely has a lot of "ACC" in them. Gene Corrigan remains influential. There's definitely a kind of fraternity of UNC/Duke/Notre Dame/UVA guys that wield some power and influence in the ACC offices.
