This is interesting. I was wondering why the returner caught it while backtracking near the endzone. I can definitely see the potential for this being a trick play.

None needed. When you the player see that the team is incapable of playing as a unit, is poorly coached, unable to win, greener pastures become appealing.

I don't understand why a non power of 2 is an option. It is clear that a bye is not a reward.
If they greatly condensed the schedule and it is a single bye week then I can understand it being a reward rather than a handicap.
