The Buffs Volleyball Team (16-12, 8-10) are back in action tonight at 6pm when they host Utah (19-11, 8-10). The Buffs have lost 5 of 6 and are holding on to the slim chance of making the NCAA tournament, while Utah has lost 6 of 8 and are probably in the same boat as the Buffs. Here is a short preview from cubuffs.com:
Utah has compiled a 19-11 record and is 8-10 in the Pac-12. Last weekend, the Utes fell in four to Oregon and defeated Oregon State in four at home. They are 3-5 on the road during conference play this season.

Shelby Dalton leads Utah with 2.68 kills per set and Chelsey Schofield is averaging 2.638 kills per set. The Utes have spilt the setting duties between Kendal Cygan and Kalee Kirby. Cygan is averaging 5.61 assists per set and Kirby is handing out 5.45 assists per set. The team is hitting .230 this season.

In the back row, Chelsey Scholfield has picked up 3.32 digs per set and Morgan Odale adds 2.85 digs per set. Erin Redd-Brandon ranks second in the Pac-12 with 1.41 blocks per set and Bailey Bateman is sixth in the league with 1.24 blocks per set. Not to be outdone, Dalton puts up 1.17 blocks per set, just outside the conference’s top 10. The Utes rank second in the league with 2.91 blocks per set the season.

Utah holds a slight 6-4 advantage in the all-time series. In the first meeting of the season, the Utes defeated CU in five sets (25-19, 21-58, 25-18, 24-26, 15-12) in Salt Lake City.

The match against Utah will be televised regionally on the Pac-12 Networks. Anne Marie Anderson will handle the play-by-play duties and Mike Dodd will provide the commentary.
