Lancaster Catholic HS (Lancaster, PA)
AAU Team: Philadelphia Belles

Jefferson, only a sophomore, is a Division One recruit with scholarship offers from Villanova, St. Joseph’s, Penn State, Seton Hall and Colorado.

She said she’s being actively recruited by, among others, Notre Dame, Rutgers and Vanderbilt. She plays in the spring and summer with the Philadelphia Belles, an AAU powerhouse for which Stewart once played.

And, yes, Jefferson has gotten mail from, and been assured she’s on the radar of, UConn.

So does that mean if Auriemma offers, it’s a done deal? Maybe. Maybe not.

“Maybe I want to be part of the team that beats them,’’ Jefferson said.

“She was able to take us and the team to a different level of play,” Detz said. “The other girls feed off of her. She’s our catalyst. We had a great run to the state semis, and she was our leader, but she brought a lot of other girls along — girls who might have been in a shell, but she helped bring them along. That’s the Kiki factor.

“She’s only a sophomore, and both years with us she’s been outstanding,” Lancaster Catholic coach Charlie Detz said. “She puts a lot of work in. It’s not like she comes in from November until March and then puts the ball away. All year long she’s out there working on her skills and playing at the highest level. I couldn’t be happier for her.”

Thanks so much for the link to the article. A more current one (March 1) from the same newspaper - http://lancasteronline.com/sports/h...cle_099aaaac-1db7-11e8-b441-ffa86404290f.html

Re recruiting. (Looks like, as should be expected, she has lots of options.)-

Beyond that, Jefferson has the kind of size (6 feet) and athleticism and skill set that adds up to enormous, multi-position upside at the college level.

Villanova has offered. So have St. Joseph’s, Penn State, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Colorado, Boston College, James Madison and West Virginia. Notre Dame and Vanderbilt, among many others, have been involved.

Even UConn, the NCAA women’s gold standard, has made contact.

Last summer, Jefferson made it to the final 32 from 133 players trying out for the U.S. Under-16 national team. She figures to get another shot, at the Under-17 team, this summer.

No big time traditional powers in the group that has offered so far. She seems under the radar somehow right now. To make the final 32 is incredible. I don't see her ranked when I tried to find her ranking.

Since there hadn't been much updating going on for many of the Buff WBB offers, just going through and seeing what I could find quick on them via Twitter search. Re Ms. Jefferson -
