WBB Game Day THread - Idaho @ CU

With visions of an NCAA tourney bid in their heads the Buffs open at home against Idaho (2 pm MST). Coming into the game CU feels they have more talent and depth than at any point in years. Lappe has stated she 1- to 12 players who could start and thus practices are more competitive.

Idaho was blasted (86-53) by Wyoming on Friday night in Laramie. Like CU, Idaho had high hopes coming into the season, as they return key players and have wheat their coach calls the best group of freshmen in his tenure.

Last season CU won this match up by 9 points in Boulder.

Looks like Lappe will start the same five she did against WSC in the exhibition last weekend.

1 - B-Wil
2 - Kresl
3 - MMP
4 - Roberson
5 - Hargis

The game will be streamed live for free @ http://pac-12.com/live/cubuffs.aspx

Looking forward to this one today.

Buffs need another great OOC performance this season. Let's get it started the right way against Idaho. The one worry for me is that teams tend to improve a lot from game 1 to game 2 and Idaho already has g1 under their belts.

Tight game at half. Hopefully we can make a run in the 2nd half and really put them away.

Barely squeaked out a victory. Good job Buffs! Gotta play better than that though.

Congrats to Idaho on a well-played game.

Scoreboard, though. We can play like ass every game as long as the result is a W.

Also, it looks like the Roberson legacy continues with Arielle.

16 and 6 in her first game.

Well it was a W but the coaches will have a lot of "teaching moments" when they review the film of this game with the team. Way too many turnovers, players out of position for rebounds, need for improved free throw shooting for players not named Brittany Wilson, and probably more. Definitely a first game of the season. The good parts ... the grit and fight was there and they made the shots when they needed them in the final minutes; Arielle Roberson played very well except for a few too many fouls, they defended well most of the time; a good all-around game by BWil; and they got the W. They have a week now before their next game which is on the road at UMKC. A lot of time to practice and a lot of things to work on.

Sorry that I haven't been paying closer attention, but why didn't Chucky play?

Violation of team rules. She sat for the exhibition game and again today. May see her back in the next game (on the road next weekend at UMKC). Also had a knee injury last week but that probably would not have kept her out of the game today.

Well, Lappe was asked about Chucky in the press conference after the Idaho game. When asked if Chucky would play at UMKC, Lappe answered "possibly". To me that says that, at least as of last Sunday afternoon, everything wasn't fully resolved but that it could get resolved in time for Chucky to play.

Arielle Roberson was the Pac-12 freshman of the week! 16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals.

Freshmen of the week was well deserved. She earned it with her play.

Can't wait for the UMKC game. Planning on driving to Kansas City to watch the Buffs.
