"Rachel provides some much needed depth in the post and we are excited to have her on board," said Lappe of her first recruit to Colorado. "She played for a tremendous high school and club program and we'll expect her to bring those winning ways to Colorado."

Hargis, a 6-foot, 4-inch center from Robinson, Texas, was a three-year all-district performer for Robinson High School, located just southeast of Waco. She averaged 14.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game while shooting 52 percent from the field as a senior, guiding the Rockets to an overall record of 20-12, a second place finish in District 19-3A and a spot in the 3A Region Quarterfinals.

Great pickup for Lappe's Buffs. WBB needed another inside presence. Hargis brings good height and she's also got a solid build. We need that, because what we had with the Malcolm-Peck sisters, Seabrook and MacFarlane needs some time in the weight room. I'm still a bit worried about our guards, though. The Wilson sisters need to come in ready to contribute.
