STANFORD, Calif. – Connor Winter, a redshirt freshman for the University of Colorado, became the 13[SUP]th[/SUP]-fastest 1,500 meter performer in CU history on Friday night when he clocked a time of 3 minutes, 44.54 seconds at the Nike Stanford Invitational. Winter placed seventh overall in the top section of the 1,500, which was won in 3:40.77 by Oklahoma’s Riley Masters. His teammate, Blake Theroux, was also in the section and finished ninth in 3:48.19. Richard Medina and Hugh Dowdy also competed in the 1,500. Medina was 12[SUP]th[/SUP] in the second section (3:51.78) and Dowdy was 10[SUP]th[/SUP] in the fourth heat, crossing the finish in 3:55.79. Another pair of CU runners were also in action at the meet. Ammar Moussa also ran his first outdoor 5k race for the Buffs and placed 17[SUP]th[/SUP] in the second section. Moussa finished the race in 14:12.79. Pierce Murphy debuted in the 10k late Friday night. He finished 11[SUP]th[/SUP] in the second heat in 29:37.71. Many track and field Buffs will be competing on Saturday at the Fum McGraw Quadrangular in Fort Collins, Colo.
