I caught Neil Woelk was on the Fan this morning and they were talking about the RMS and he said that CSU needs to prove that this game belongs on the big stage in Denver, and they certainly didn't do that the other night. Like it or not, CU can call the shots in this series. He thinks the series will take a few years off after the 2010 game, and brought up the point that you don't see other instances around the country of a BCS school playing a non-BCS school regularly in a home-and-home series.
Here are some of the other things he had to say:
- Team speed and overall athletic ability stood out the most to him. He said CU might have an outside shot at a good year, say 10 wins, but in reality he thinks that this team is still a year away. (As most of us do...)
- He felt that as CU starts playing better teams they'll need to mix up the play-calling more - more misdirection, more getting out on the perimeter, and a few more reverses.
-DS: He expects him to get the majority of the carries and become and every-down back as the season goes on, with Stewart mixed in as a change of pace.
