Women's Golf Opens Season at Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic

The women's golf team will open up their season on Monday when they travel to Fort Collins for the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic. Joining CU and the host Rams in the field are teams from Boise State, Cal, Colorado, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Idaho, Illinois, Kennesaw State, Long Beach State, Nevada, Northern Colorado, San Diego State, San Francisco UNLV, UTEP, Wyoming and St. Andrews University from Scotland. Cal (34) and Gonzaga (49) are the highest-rated teams in the field. The tournament will be held on the par-72, 7,223-yard Ptarmigan Country Club course.

Buffs are in a tie for 2nd after the first two rounds were played today. Nine strokes out of the lead going into the final round tomorrow isn't impossible to overcome, but we'll probably need San Diego State to make some mistakes.

Buffs end up finishing the tournament in a tie for 3rd place. They just weren't able to play well enough in the final round to catch SDSU, but not a bad showing for the opening tournament of their season.
