Women’s XC Team Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honor

NEW ORLEANS - The 2012 University of Colorado women's cross country team earned USTFCCCA Division I All-Academic honors, announced by the association Monday.

The Buffs recorded a 3.24 cumulative grade point average during the fall semester. Two athletes, Nikki Look and Rachel Viger, were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team with 4.0 GPAs. Diana George earned second team honors and Courtney Bouchet, Lara Darco, Camille Logan, Jana Stolting and Liz Tremblay were named honorable mention selections.

CU placed fifth at the Pac-12 Championship, was third at regionals and took 24[SUP]th[/SUP] at the NCAA Championship.

In total, 200 teams earned USTFCCCA All-Academic awards. To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.

Seven of the top ten finishing teams at the 2012 NCAA Cross Country Championships earned All-Academic status. Of the 31 teams that participated in the national meet, 27 of those earned All-Academic status.
