'12 CA FB Christian Powell (Signed to Colorado)

Way excited to have this guy, had some real good fb's in past years. Hemingway, Merritt (he didnt last long and might have ended up at tb, was a stud tho), Drumm, Vickers, etc.. With Norgard and Pow coming in, eventhough they are young, feel way better about fb.

Wow. He was really low on that squat too. Very impressive. A lot of "record" squats you see (and guys I see at the gym who think they squat a lot), bend their knees only so far that their quads might be at a 45 degree angle to the floor. Christian was below a box squat. Excited to have this young man.
It may have changed over the years, but to be a competition acceptable squat the back of the thighs must break parallel with the ground.

Still right, I believe. I was speaking more to the YouTube videos of dudes who think they are squatting when they barely bend their knees and the inflated squat numbers for many of the recruits out there.

With his strength and build do we think there is a chance we red-shirt Powell and try him on the D-line after that?

I guess he's listed as TE on the roster. But I have no knowledge at all. This is more of a 'tini statement than anything else.

Yeah. If you go to the official site and download the 68-page "Preseason Information" pdf file (click link named "Preseason Information), you'll see that Plati has Powell listed as a TE in there (pages 8 and 9).

That can't be accurate. Powell is listed at 6'0" and that's probably a little generous.

Just saw this quote on Twitter:
Eric Bieniemy on Fr FB Christian Powell: "He is going to be a great Buff that a lot of people are going to remember"

Pow Pow was one of my favourites during the recruiting process and I am stoked he is playing for the black and gold. I really think he can be a difference maker.

Not to far off. What a boss. He deserves his nickname.

Nickname in highschool was the Freight Train. Would be so awesome to get the PA playing the a train whistle after each touchdown
