GAME THREAD: Dick-Chards @ Buffs

Tad said “At least, hopefully, we only have to play against Ayton 1more time in his career in the Pac 12 tournament.”

That's my point, if you can get them you might sing a different tune, like Duke.
Maybe. I just don't think that is the type of player Tad wants. At least not until he can get them every year. If he gets the program to a point where they are reloading with that kind of talent every single season then that may change.

I love how casual George is all the time. I think he's a perfect fit to lead by example for this young team.

These are huge wins. If this is the beginning of the team growing up and they can go on a bit of a streak and a strong showing in the PAC12 tourney they’ll be sitting good for
March madness.

This team is growing in confidence and figuring out its formula.

Dom's become a really good combo guard who is playing like a senior. Perfect complement to what Kin does at PG.

If Namon keeps scoring and Walton/ Bey stay on the upward trajectory they're on, this is a very dangerous team.

Today we finally saw what Schwartz is capable of, too, with his smooth offensive game. He's got a ways to go with his defense and rebounding, but he is starting to figure things out.

I really liked the starting 5 today, too. Kin-Namon-King-Bey-Walton is a very athletic and versatile group. I also like Dom being the first sub in because you know that either Namon or King is going to be a little loose with things and we'll be replacing one of them (but you want to see if one of them is going to go off, too).

Let's get a win or 2 on this LA trip now and set the table for making this season special.

You could tell the moment was getting to the guys in the second half. They had a lot of bad turnovers and decisions. But, dammit, they persevered, got it together, and won the game. This is the sort of thing that they will file away for the future. It was a great learning moment.

Very interesting press conference by Sean Miller for Pac-12 network.

Says he is really struggling this year reaching his team. He can't find the buttons to press and he can't get this team to play with full effort for a full 40min consistently. Won't place any blame on any of his players but he seems very frustrated with them.

I haven't seen his PC yet ... did he even give any credit at all to how the Buffs played?

On another point ... I think it's pretty clear that the Chards are in mens BB what the Nubbs were (and still are to a point) in football. It gives us a warm tickle in our collective hearts when we beat them that wins over others just doesn't quite measure up to.

Holy **** that was fun.

Get this out of he way first: Ayton is a freak of nature and that guy is going to make a boatload of money. Holy cow. What a player.

With that... Dallas mother ****ing Walton is my hero. Damn he played an amazing game. Don stepped up huge too, Namon is getting comfortable, and we all know what Kin can do. Really coming together, but there is still clunkers to come, especially on the road. No one wants to come to Boulder now though. This team is so much fun.

Reporter: "Tad is there any extra satisfaction beating Arizona, knowing what happened in the offseason with the FBI?"

Boyle: "Absolutely. Absolutely there is. It is ironic we are playing Arizona today. I have great respect for Sean Miller and the kind of coach he is, ok. They recruit very very well. They have recuirted very very well, their staff has. USC has recruited very very well. The two most talented teams in our (league) from top to bottom are USC and Arizona. So hell yes there is extra satisfaction. Hell yes. I have great respect for Sean, hell of a coach. I have great respect for Andy Enfield. But, to answer your question, Hell Yes. Thank you."

Yes he did. He was very generous with his praise of the CU team today.

Gotta learn how to win. Next step, learn how to do it on the road. You can't have wtf turnovers on the road.

Found this very intersting. Give it a listen.

Cool of him to give proper credit to the Buffs.

He sure seems discouraged. I've always kind of liked the guy ... of course that's been kind of ameliorated given the recent revelations about possible payoffs to recruits.

Didn't get a chance to see the game today but a sweep of the Arizona schools this weekend is just awesome! Just as good as beating a rival!
