Whatever it is. Have to take some chances on the hires. Might over pay or over reach. One of KDs job descriptions is to identify and develop talent, with both players and staff. He’s a CEO and has pull the best out of everyone.

I sort of agree with your assessment on B in terms of "why hire" - unless the HC is a known asshole, then it may be a valid reason.

I think the percentages are a little off though:
A. 85%
B. 5%
C. 10%

We really need to hit on some in that "C" pool IMO.

ironically, IIRC he went to Michigan St. and played corner... He went to Pasadena Muir, CA. I played against him my JR. in HS. Our schools were rivals and would play our Homecoming game at the Rose Bowl. Pasadena vs. Muir. Glad to see him with the Buffs! Take that Sumlin... nice poach HCKD!!!

Martin played at Michigan State. Think about this one...midnight mel *ucker goes "home" to msu, has giant assistant salary pool he claims was so necessary, seems to simply tread water or downgrade on most of his assistant hires, DOESN'T get this great DB coach/msu alum and Coach Karl Dorrell lands him at CU.
Looks like a great hire by Coach Dorrell.

Coaching the entire secondary is too much for one guy. They have the room for two secondary coaches, Dorrell will use them.
