Well, that was a quick walk-back.
And it is NOT obvious that he is tending to "it", whatever it is.

edit: in fact, based on history, he's likely not tending to it. And he will never play a CFB game. Just based on the points outlined above. It's rare that a guy has the light go on, after going down this road. Hope he can do it, here or elsewhere.

He attended 3 different high schools in 4 years, went to Bama where he just stopped showing up to practice and classes and then transferred to CU where he once again stopped showing up to practice and classes. It seems to be a pattern of behavior over the last 5-6 years, across a lot of different situations where he's had a lot of support and resources, and people with high vested interest in him succeeding.

This is what I'm worried about. Whatever the problems are, can you count on him when something goes wrong? If all the changes were for family reasons, I respect that. Idk why he's bounced around so much?

The kid is clearly still a kid and has some very real problems. Try thinking about him as though he were your son, and not a part to plug into the "Buff Machine"
 
I know that this is probably just blowing wind, but how does Georgia receive a waiver for J.T. Daniels in a couple of months, and nothing has been said about Alfano's pending appeal??

Not surprising but the NCAA gave no reasoning for its decision. At least for Alfano, the NCAA should weigh-in one way or another, such that he can attempt his long-road back, if he wants.

I imagine a decision from the NCAA on Alfano would also be coming soon, if he was still enrolled in classes and officially part of the team. It's possible he could look to transfer again and I can't imagine the NCAA is just going to grant him eligibility regardless

His appeal hasn’t even been submitted as far as I know, so the NCAA isn’t the road block. My understanding is that the program was waiting for him to demonstrate growth in the classroom at CU as the potential basis for his appeal, before submitting the request.

Wow, I did not even think of that, but that seems to be a valid reason. If so, the CU folks should just clear it up. With all this CoVid downtime, I'd think they should put something out there spelling out his long-road; although student confidentiality could prevent that, but if I were Alfano and serious about the road back, I would not object to the release of information.

Whether they have or not, there’s no reason to make that public.

As far as I know, not enrolled in school and indefinitely suspended. This was the last article concerning his situation.

Alfano is suspended. Why would CU submit and why would the NCAA grant anyone who is suspended from their program?
 
To be 100% clear, Antonio Alfano is not enrolled at CU and not on the football team. He withdrew in the spring semester. Is there a path back? Sure. He has committed no crimes, and I see no reason why he couldn’t return if the coaches want him. More importantly, though, he must want it, and he appears more than a bit unsettled as to what he wants his future to be. That’s ok and his choice.

Given the above, there is no waiver to apply for with the NCAA. However, I’m 99% sure CU and Alfano would’ve received it if he had stayed on the team and in school.

I’m sure he knows what he needs to do to get off suspension.
