Games thread- MEN'S bball hosts Washington (Thurs., 1/19/23, 7:00 MT; ESPNU) and WSU (Sunday, 4:00 PM MT, ESPNU)

UW inbounder just stepped on the court right in front of the ref. No call. Unreal

If I'm tracking the booth commentary properly, KJ Simpson has had 12 freethrow attempts in the first 8 conference games.

Washington Playa some of the weakest bull**** offense, and they're still shooting 50% +

Crazy that despite everything, we've matched our highest ranking in Kenpom (#46) heading into tonight (3rd highest in P12 behind UCLA-#3 and Zona-#18). Every home game is a must win now (including UCLA on 2/26)
Gotta make a run in Vegas now

Do the Pac-12 refs know what a ****ing travel is?

Buffs can't get out of their own way this season. Take care of the damn ball already.

We can't put it together. We fought but just can't shoot. Ruffin probably would have helped. This team is sorely missing an interior scoring threat.

Well that one was frustrating. We were all around terrible in the first half. Defense didn’t make enough stops in the second half. Tristan was pretty good, LOB did a lot of good things, KJ wasn’t very good, Hammond at least made up for the scoring missing from KJ and no Ruffin, but he struggled at times too. Nique was awful. Keion Brooks murdered us. Would’ve been nice to have a TO with 12 seconds left.

Not gonna let this bring me down tonight.

Still seeing enough that I could see this team putting something together by P12T.

Not me. I'm out.

This team is soft, not one dawg among them. LL and KJ could get there, but it won't be enough this season. I'm even pessimistic about next season--don't see anything great unless LL, Hurlburt, and/or Diop surprise.

Very Quick (and depressing notes) from last night:
- Fast becoming Tad's worst year here ever. From the recruiting that put this squad together, to the in-game management, to the seemingly significant lack of coaching this group seems to get, we're lucky we have 11 wins.
- Cue the continual drumbeat. Clifford and Wright are absolutely not fit to play at this level. Terrible on both ends. So frustrating to watch each try to shade the player they're guarding to one side only to watch that player switch their dribble and blow past them. Not mention the lazy rotations, the inability to fight through screens, and on and on and on...And don't get me started on the fact that each find it hard to even DRAW IRON on shots. WTAF is that?!
- LOB continues to prove his worth. Good on him.
- Maybe we should NOW formally work on FTs in practice? Obviously UW does.
- Each week you can sense the crowd seems to be losing more and more patience/excitement for this team.
- Need to recruit a pure shooter. Hell, I don't care if he's a 5'6 260lb leper with one leg from Holyoke. If he can catch and shoot from distance on the regular, give him a scholly.
- Again, having a 6'5 SG defending 7 footers each week is getting old. That too is on Tad.
- It's time to play Hurlburt and Allen. Tad needs to quit being so stubborn and see what he actually has in these two.
- Hurts to say, but this is a low seed NIT team at best.

Ethan Wright is a pure shooter, FYI.

I didn't know Ruff was out until about 3 minutes into the game when I looked over at the bench and saw he was in street clothes. It's not good when the guy who has been your most consistent shooter the last month is out against the most zone focused team in the conference.
