He'd probably just take a bite out of the apple.
I listen to a lot of college radio on SiriusXM and the comments about Colorado in one minute it’s good the next minute we are trash and yet nobody seems to fully appreciate who, and what prime is to the bigger picture of brand, promotion, media, and coaching. Everyone repeats the line then in three years he’s either gone to a bigger school or gone all together. They never seem to say what if he wants to be there forever and kick everyone’s ass.
What I don't get about that narrative is that if successful enough at CU to be offered other jobs or he feels his CFB calling is satisfied, then he's got no reason within his or CU's control to leave or to not complete his contract.

I don’t think the whole company is for sale. But I think ESPN is probbly for sale. And more importantly for Apple than the ESPN/ESPN+ sale is the possible sale of 20th Century Fox, Pixar, Marvel, and or Lucasfilm to AppleTV. That lets Disney refocus on Disney Studios and its other properties. And it gives AppleTV a much bigger portfolio of content.
Offloading ESPN unloads billions in sports rights obligations. If he bundles ESPN to ABC and then spins it off as its own public company then BK is probably right around the corner. That carried loss would be pretty valuable to Disneys tax returns for the forseeable future.
FSU must think they have a firm B1G offer. I can’t imagine breaking the GoR for a deal that is very favorable to ESPN when they are cash strapped is going to encourage ESPN to double their payout by moving them to the SEC. They would make a great travel partner for Central Florida.
To the bolded properties, if that's the direction they decided to go Apple is sitting on the kind of cash that could buy that from Disney plus all of the Mattel film, tv and digital rights.
And they could do it at the same time as it's acquiring the sports rights plus ESPN/ABC that make AppleTV a must subscription for anyone who likes sports.
