CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

Having a presence in SoCal with a school that has the ability to show a pulse in football isn't a bad thing. I'd rather the Aztecs be in with us than go to the PAC. Need to shut that conference out of the region.
That presence isn't worth giving them a slice of the media pie. If they go to the remnants of the PAC so be it, cut their shares even further.

This isn't about not liking the school or the city, it is strictly about $$. We are in a time in college football when the future of programs is being determined and that future is based on who gets the money.

Would B12 would rather ASU stay and keep Pac intact vs all top brands to Big10? CU definitely prefers Pac sticking together.
Yeah I'm going to enjoy playing K-State at 1:30 MT on linear TV while they get no exposure outside of that late night window.

The Pac staying together does have that benefit.

Sounds like the ACC and PAC may merge. Damn, this could be a massive L for Colorado. Damn!
Why? The GOR isn't going to be substantially more, if it was, that would have happened already.

I think Oregon and Washington found out they were only getting partial or even a quarter share from the BIG.

A pac / ACC merger would be interesting. I don't see how the TV money is there. If they are going to go out and negotiate new TV money, FSU, Clemson, and probably Miami and UNC are gone.

So now you have a massive massive conference with... Oregon as your top brand? I don't get it.

ACC and PAC merger = kicking the can

The ACC will get shredded by the P2 and it’s just a matter of time. I firmly believe it’ll be 3 conferences and the ACC needs to get raided before that is reality. B12 is in the geographic middle and was already raided so it’ll be the 3rd either now or later

It was half and it would be less than the Big XII just due to travel cost. The B1G must up that offer. It's really bad.

MWC media contract was unequal, with BSU and SDSU getting paid more than the others. I believe they agreed to equal shares so that the networks didn't constantly hurt their ticket sales, fan engagement and competitiveness by constantly moving them to late night time slots (western window) on various days of the week.

This schedule nightmare better not happen to CU, BYU and UA(?) in the Big 12 media world.
Having Coach Prime counters any attempt of this for us.

Yep. We also want another school to the west so we don’t get screwed with all the late time slots.
I actually don't know if that's going to be that big of a thing. IF the Pac 12 stays together.......I wonder if ESPN would get involved because they don't have a lot they can put in that late night window right now.

I’m not advocating for SDSU to the Big12 but I think your broad claim is still not backed up with any facts.

SDSU was 3rd in football attendance in the MWC. The NBA didn’t leave “a few years back.” It was 1984. And the Chargers leaving was not so much about attendance. It was a greedy owner that screwed the city and chased huge money in LA. I’m sensitive to that because it’s exactly what the Houston owner did when taking the Oilers to Tennessee.

This isn't the life raft that the Pac 12 Schools are hoping it is. It might extend the Pac 12 for 5-7 years, but the inevitable is on its way.

That would be the ultimate bad move on CU's part.
How does ACC/Pac merger generate any more $ for anyone. Multiple teams in ACC already want to blow that conference up because the $ is so bad. Pac $ is a joke by all reports. Is ESPN/Fox somehow going to throw a few hundred million more into a 24 team conference tv deal?

All they are doing at this point is putting a band aid on a gaping chest wound.

Ain't gonna happen.
