Received an email on this, so thought I'd start a thread for any updates or reports from those attending the scrimmage (which per the email has free admission).

This Monday is the 1st chance of the year to see the women's team face off against someone in another uniform, and I'm sure they'll be working hard to use it to get ready for their 1st official game coming up next Sunday at noon.

Note- At least as I type this, the cubuffs.com WBB schedule doesn't show any free video stream or live stats available for the scrimmage.

It doesn't look like there will be video or audio. So I will have to wait for the actual season to begin.

Sherrod looks good. She was the best player on the floor and it was not close. It was also nice to see Knight healthy and playing well. Jank looks better on the wing then she did in the post. Post still need some work. Peanut did not play a whole lot and toward the end Whitaker was playing better. Seemed a little slow and tentative. Clark had a rough night shooting. All in all not bad. I think this team is deeper in all areas. Do not know how good Regis is but to me CU looked how they should have looked in this game.

In addition to what's already been noted above, the main thing I always look for in these scrimmages is unknown injuries and, other than freshman Maura Singer (who I believe it has already been announced is redshirting this season because of injury), all the Buffs on the roster were able to play quite a few minutes (the coaches were rotating LOTS of players in and out), so it looks like the team is starting the season off pretty healthy.

It was nice to see everybody play and they all did something good. I think the freshman Smith and the player from poland are the farthest away from being ready. I would like to see some better 3 point shooting and better presence down low.

I will be interested to see if they include a box score in the post-game article, but my (always suspect) recollection is that the overall the 3 point shooting was OK. I do believe they missed quite a few in a row (6-7?) after Sherrod made hers in the 1st quarter, but after that I believe at least 5-6 other Buffs did make at least one the rest of the way.

If we're talking shooting, I'd say the slightly negative thing (although obviously pretty trivial in a scrimmage) that I remember is there was some pretty brutal free throw shooting late in the game. (If there is a box score released, I'll be interested to see what the overall % ends up being in that stat column.)

Q seems to have herself in a bad place mentally when it comes to free throws. Always has.

I'm happy the first game that counts will be live streamed.
