Mosley has already taken a visit to Nebraska. Some other programs are sniffing around (Oregon State, Iowa, Iowa State, Washington, Arizona, Oregon).

He looks pretty raw as a corner, but he's definitely fast and athletic. Probably a guy that spends a year or two playing ST and special packages before he challenges for starting time. Looks like a GB corner, though. Tall and lanky.

4.77 40 time (http://rise.espn.go.com/community/members/MarquesTM.aspx) .... not good for a potential corner. Too slow to play outside, and his frame is not a D1 safety frame. What's the appeal on this kid?

Not too slow when he's clocking in with a 4.03 shuttle. Usually there's only a difference of 4/10ths between a shuttle and a 40. There's some variability to the 4/10ths rule, but it shouldn't be 7/10ths. Mosley's actual straight line speed is probably in the 4.5 range.

For comparison, Jimmy Smith ran a 4.46 in the 40 and a 4.06 in the shuttle at last year's combine. (Most guys aren't that spot on with the differential, so he ended up being a ridiculously good example.)

Bo Pelini may be an A-hole but he knows athletic ability on defensive players. If the Nebraska offer is legit then I'm betting he's fast enough to play and play effectively.

Interesting. Thanks for the insight on the shuttle vs. dash. I also think that he looks really fast in his game-tape. Maybe he is one of those kids that doesn't let the pads affect his speed. Are we recruiting him as a safety or corner?

I find it hard to believe he runs a 4.7 40 and has a CU offer and NU has shown interest.

tini. Why would ESPNhs have any reason to lie? If anything the reported 40 time would be exaggerated in the other direction.
The 40 could have been hand timed which messes with the time. I just find it hard to believe that a skill position recruit with an offer from CU and one whose taken an OV to Lincoln would run a 4.7 40, that's linemen speed. And ESPN isn't the greatest recruiting site out of them.

Like has been said, as much as I dislike him, Bo knows defense and he knows good defensive talent when he sees it. No way that Nebraska offer is legit if he doesnt have the skill and talent to be a solid DB at the D-1 level

in the small clip, look at the part where he chasedd the WR down from behind, that is not 4.7 40 speed. Mosely probably runs 4.5 40 and will be a very good Free Safety.

Seems to have adequate speed and is pretty physical, but I do not see a corner looking at the highlights. He looked pretty stiff dropping into coverage.

I read a comment (apologize for not remembering which board) that the Nebraska offer may only be good through this Sunday. If he doesn't commit today, the Fuskers may be taking themselves out of the Mosley sweepstakes and moving on.

If your information was accurate, then it seems like we may be in the driver's seat here.

Welcome!

Donta Abron and him. Now it's time to get Christian Powell?

BTW, is upland a power house HS in CA?

I like how aggressive he is on defending the edge and attacking the ball. Espn seems to agree, giving him 3 stars. They also say he runs a 4.77 40.

On film it looks like he runs a 4.60 or so.

I think he is faster than that even. I read on some site what his fastest 100 time is and it was sub 11. That's pretty fast. Of course some people pick up steam later but I think he is faster than 4.6
