WBB vs. Idaho Vandals (half time)

I guess no one is really paying attention to the Womens game right now but the Vandals are giving CU a fight right now. Idaho has played decent D and are making shots. Also they are not letting CU dominate the boards. Every time it looked like CU might start to pull away a little bit Idaho would come right back. Buffs committing too many turnovers again but are shooting the ball pretty well. Chuckie, again, is leading the way. She will be all PAC12.

At the half it's CU up 42-33. It was virtually even until the last couple minutes of the half where the Buffs hit 3 threes to pull away a little. I think it's good for the Buffs to have to fight a little for a win.

Kresl hurt late in first half as well. Looks like an ankle. Hopefully not serious. Would hate to lose her for too long. She is a player!

Go Buffs!

Buffs seem to have thought they wouldn't have a game today. Team is down 56-57 with under 4 minutes to go. What are they doing?

Seabrook ties it with first free throw. She makes the second, so CU leads by 1.

Seabrook rebounds a missed shot. Kresl misses. Idaho shoots, makes it and she's fouled. FT not good. CU down by 1 with 3 min to go.

Reese makes a nice jumper for CU to take the lead! TO by Idaho. Jeffrey makes 2 FTs. CU up by 3 with 2.14 remaining.

Awful shooting day for the Buffs.

62-59 with 2:00 to play.

Big shot from Chucky.

64-59 with 1:14 to go and she's got 27 points.

Idaho misses a shot, Jeffrey makes a huge shot to give CU a 5 pt lead. Jeffrey new career high with 27 pts. 1:14 remaining.

Brittany Wilson makes 2 free throws. CU leads by 6. Jeffrey going to the line. Maintain.

Chuck at the line with 2 more to extend to 67-59 with 48 secs left.

Then a rebound to get her double-double.

2 FTs from Jeffrey. 29 pts. 7 pts. lead. Jeffrey rebounds and is fouled. Going to the line.

Final CU wins over Idaho 68 to 59. Close game. Hope they learned you have to play against every team.

Good job, Buffs! And thank you to the posters here for making this thread to keep me informed!

Not every game will go as planned, but it is great to get the win. Wish our boys would learn a few things from them.

Yeah the Buffs really went cold in the second half but they gutted it out. The game was closer than I and probably they expected. Good win! Like I said earlier I think they needed a game like this and yes Buffgal I hope they learn from it.

Chuckie was amazing! Kresl was off today. Reese played pretty well. Good to have Meagan M-P back but she did get hurt late (hope she is ok).

Wow you guys are some dedicated fans to watch the game over the Broncos. I'm impressed . GO BUFFS!

Lady Buffs shot 66.7% from the line.
And that was a bad day for them.... just like in most aspects of todays game they didn't play up to par. Maybe we need to not allow any more noon tip-offs. They seemed like they were still asleep for about the first quarter of the game. Of course they started the second half the same way. The good part ... they fought and played well on both ends of the floor when they needed to ... late in the second half with the game on the line they didn't fold. Instead they fought. First time this season they have been behind that late in a game. Gut check time.... so it was good to see how they responded. Only blemish in those closing minutes was the 2 missed free throws by Seabrook, an 80% free throw shooter coming in to today. .

Lexy Kresl .... came back into the game in the second half with ankle supports on both legs (and I assume the ankles were taped up too) so I imagine (hope, hope!) the turned ankle from the first half wasn't too severe.

Megan M-P ... I'm hoping her problem was foot or leg cramping and not something more serious. On one of the timeouts not too long before she pulled up and left the game, she was standing next to the chairs and stretching, like she was trying to keep loose.

I remember some earlier WBB freshman bigs who seemed to be trying to avoid the contact and banging that goes on in the post. Not Jen Reese, from the looks of it. And she has a nice little shot from a step or two away from the rim.

AP top 25 released today. We are still not even receiving votes.
Not surprising in the slightest. We are undefeated but have played a bunch of relatively weak teams. Although RPI doesn't mean much at this early point of the season, it does give some hints and our WBB team's RPI is around 140. Not the stuff of a top 25 or even a "receiving votes" team. They will need to keep up the winning ways and show something in conference to gain that kind of respect.

A solid win against 5-2 DU may help, if they pull that off they may be undefeated until conference play.

Reminds me of Nebraska's women a couple years ago when they came out of nowhere and rode a hot streak a long way. No one paid any attention until they were about a third of the way through the conference season. Big difference is that was a "one hit wonder" year and this could be arriving a year ahead of schedule.
