My guess on the spring depth chart- depleted squad

QB- Connor Wood/Nick Hirschman/John Schrock/Dorman/Burnette
RB- Tony Jones/Josh Ford/DD Goodson/Codary Allen

Allen will take some snaps at RB because of the lack of numbers at the position. The DD Goodson experiment at Defensive back was a failure, won't surprise me that he will move back Running back. Malcom Creer is still a few months away from being back from his knee injury.

TE- Thornton/Kasa/Slavin/Fernandez/Alex Wood/Codary Allen

FB- Nogard/Alex Wood/Plimpton

ROT- Daniewitz(sp)/Harris/Mustoe
ROG- Munyer/Crabb
C- Handler/Cotner
LOG- Asiata/Kelley
LOT- Bakhtiari(sp)/ Nembot/Lewis

WR X- Richardson/Canty/Vincent
WR Y- Mccolough/Spruce/Pugh/Darden

RDE- CUD/Nichols/Hunter Shaw
LDE- Juda Parker/Tuso/Casey Walker
DT- Pericak/Bonsu/Richter/Poston/Koch
SAM- Major/Greer/Tuumalo
MIKE- Daigh/Williams/Harlos
WILL- Webb/Ewing/Clark
CB- Henderson/Moten/River Thompson
FS- Washington/Terrell Smith/Marquez
SS- Polk/Vigo/Gorman
CB- Orms/Harrington/Briscoe

Out for Spring- Malcom Creer, Jared Bell and Doug Rippy.

Rumor is that Thornton goes to WR, doesn't have the bulk to compete at TE.

Goodson looked lost at DB but has the athleticism to play there and the attitude, wouldn't surprise me at all to see him stay there with the idea that with coaching and reps he could have a future at safety.

If Powell commits at FB I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Norgard back at LB/DE.

Expect to see Pericek with some time at DE if they go 3-4, especially if Bonsu is fairly healthy coming back.

Also expect to see Orms split time between CB and FS, especially if we get a high profile CB commit, Moten could step into starting CB.

There is no way CU plays 34 defense this spring.

That is a scary depth chart. The DL is just way thin

It is going to be limited in spring practices, unless the staff have some walks on joining the program that we don't know about. Maybe that is why we are going to sign 8-9 DL this cycle.

As reported weeks ago by www.buffscoop.com, CU is switching back to a 4-3.

Also, I wouldn't really call Goodson a failure at DB. That might be one of the poorest reasoned thoughts not produced and failed by Jimmybuff. The guy got switched from offense to defense during a time of need. He wasn't previously coached by Brown, or in our system, he decided to take the jump because the team needed it. I saw some of the skills needed to be good at the position. He really just needs to be given a spot and then a chance to improve with continuity at whatever spot he plays.

Hard to argue with the concerns about our D in the Spring. I think the bigger question is what does our D look like in the Fall? My point is that many of us expect many of the 2012 class to contribute right away on D, after hopefully a solid fall camp. It is too bad we don't have more EEs, but I think we are going to have several upgrades to the spring depth at the 2 deep depth chart by CSU.
