USC Game Makes Me VERY Nervous...

I know... I know... I'm a pessimist, but hear me out. Reasons why I'm nervous...

1. We need to win on the road, it HAS to happen. This is our chance to do it. If we don't, I just don't see us coming back from that mindset that we can't beat bad teams this season away from home.

2. USC is terrible, but they stay in games... check out these scores...

Nebraska 61-64 OT
@SDSU 54-56
UNLV 55-66
New Mexico 41-44
Georgia 59-63
@Cal 49-53
@Stanford 43-51
@Oregon 62-65

They've played some close games... not sure their QUITE as bad as we want to make them out to be. However, I think Aaron Fuller is still out for them, which would be a huge loss because he is probably their best player this season and has good size.

3. I guess I'm mostly just extremely nervous because it's a huge game to determine our season, and it comes against an opponent we SHOULD beat. Looking at last year, we lose two road games to bad RPI teams in the Big XII in Oklahoma and Iowa State. We need to avoid that this year if we want to start building a resume.

Their statistics overall are atrocious, we really need Andre to step up huge and just eliminate them on the glass because they are terrible there. If we can limit 2nd chance shots, we'll likely be in very good shape.

I am with you on this.

This is the type of game a young team in transition loses.

We all know that Nebraska sucks. That makes it even more strange that they did beat Indiana this year.

What worries me is style of play. I watched how much we struggled at AFA when they packed it in, slowed it down, and gave us no chances to run.

agreed, but AFA was weeks ago, since then we have Spencer, Austin, Carlon, Ski and even Dre able to hit the 3 w/ some consistancy... that opens the lanes up... and if it doesn't we'll continue to hit the 3's(fingers crossed)

On paper this is one of those games that should be a slam dunk, it just comes down to can CU win on the road and did they learn anything on their trip to norcal.

So who's hooking their computer up to the big screen with an HDMI and having a viewing party?

I'll be on a plane. It's a good thing. I know I'd break down and give 5 bucks to the USC AD to watch the game if I wasn't.

Same here.

Also, I'm with TZI on this one -- this game reminds me a LOT of the Nebraska game last year. We were sky high, went on the road to a ****** opponent and crapped our pants. We can't afford to do that again. I mentioned this in the "This Week in" thread, but we lose this game and we blow all goodwill we've built up so far this season.

I think we are going to lose. Hope I'm wrong. If not, that 20% chance of making the dance goes to 0%.
