He had been committed to Stanford since June, but was informed he didn´t clear admissions this weekend despite a 4.0 GPA. His HS coach says SMU, Indiana, Houston and Colorado will all be coming out to see him this week. CU´s scheduled to be there this Friday.

Hell of a coincidence Stanford´s lowest rated recruit doesn´t clear admissions and the coaches can´t do anything but hang him out to dry a week before signing day, right?

BTW, check out who Jon Embree is following on Twitter and who the latest guy he follows is. Tut tut.

Jontrey had been committed to Stanford since June. This is one of those situations in recruiting that it hurts to see, but there could be a great opportunity for the Buffs.

Throw out the 2* rating. This kid's a burner with incredible character and he's not just a track guy - check out the film. If we can land him, it will be another Rodney Stewart type recruiting coup. Regardless, I'm pulling for this kid.

Here's some of the Scout article on his situation (not premium, so I encourage you to read the whole thing):

"He runs a 10.3 in the 100 and a 4.3 in the 40-yard dash," stated Antoine. "Jontrey had 2,000 all-purpose yards as a senior with 5,000 over the past two years. He's an icon in this community who has broken every school record.

"Jontrey didn't want to play in the basketball game Friday night, but to show you what kind of kid he is, he did play and hit the game-winning shot against Jeanerette."

Which schools are now in the mix?

"Houston is coming this week," said Antoine. "June Jones at SMU is coming tomorrow. Indiana will be here Wednesday; Colorado will be here on Friday.

I was wondering who would win the profile thread creation war. It was entertaining going back and forth, checking the differences & updates that were made.

I'm usually pretty easy to beat. I like to pull all the info I want to post together into about 10 tabs before I post the profile. That way, I can rapid-post the profile, the film, and any article links as the 1st 3 posts in the thread before people start jumping in with tree puns.

Whatever, though. I'm glad this got out there. People should be excited. Tillman was one of my favorite skill guys in Stanford's class.

That's really crappy by Stanford. It feels more like an oversigning/juggling act. Out of the schools he's talking to, there only one school where he could take it to Stanford on a regular basis...

I'd love to have him here.

That is jacked up.

Film looks solid. Speed looks very good especially in the 2nd film. He gets a crack and he's gone. I could see the guy coming in immediately and filling a role on the return teams. I'm not really sure what role he would fill on offense though. Too small to be an every play HB, and doesn't show the hands to catch consistently out wide. I'd love to have him butttttttttt...... we have some REALLLY good kids we're in on. I trust the staff to fill the spots they need to fill.

See Dexter McCluster

We're running out of spots. Not much room left in this class. His speed is certainly attractive, I just don't know if we can shoe-horn him into this class.

I dream of having a returner that makes teams kick it out of bounds when they see him in the endzone.

well with jeff hall's potential commitment yeah... it is legit
No, you are dumb.

Anyways, this is the kind of "wildcard" guy I could see us taking to fill out the class since, according to AZ, we aren't looking for "positions" any more, but just the best athlete available.

Maybe you play him on the offensive side of the ball as a 4th receiver type. There may be some times when we want to go to a 4 WR set just to mess with defenses. I dunno. You love to have speed, especially on offense. It can create some matchup problems.
