Scanning the Team Recruiting Rankings...Very Surprised by:

KSU isn't built by recruiting top HS talent. They do their shopping in the Juco's which don't show up in the same way as the HS kids do in the rankings.

Juco's are also ranked....didn't we land a 4 star Juco WR from Kansas a few years ago?

They are ranked but don't seem to get the same respect in the rankings as HS players do. KSU also in the past has brought in a lot of JUCO kids after the LOI day that don't get figured into the rankings.

This isn't true. For example, look at USC's class of 12 that is ranked #17 on Rivals - two of those are signed JUCO 4 star kids that obviously have a big effect on their ranking.

If you're talking about Andre Simmons, and I think you are, thanks for reminding me to turn off the robocall assualt to Independence Community College...

I'm surprised by Washington more than anybody. A program obviously on the rise the last couple years and they have been having good recruiting classes, but at the bottom of the conference right now?

Another example of recruits not caring one bit about new facilities.

You base that on what again? The guy just fired a bunch of coaches after this year. That's hardly a "rising" program

Going from 0-12 to consecutive bowls in years two and three under Sarkisian is not "on the rise"? Interesting.

I mentioned it a while ago, but Zona and ASU really are feeling the effects of the coaching change. Their classes went to crap.

Oregon State, U-Dub, Utah, and us seem to be the "second tier" in terms of recruiting this season. Not a bad position IMO.

Iowa St is hurting too. Granted they aren't a power. Though I have to wonder how much the conference realignment talk hurt KSU and Iowa St this fall. Those were the 2 schools most likely to be left out in the rain if the Big 12 imploded.

I'd imagine that any coach going against them is bringing that up as a possibility. "You do understand that if the Big 12 disintegrates Iowa St/Ks St. will most likely drop out of the AQ picture."

Guy had a 1st round QB on his roster for 2 years.

Going from 0-12 to 6-6 isn't as tough as it sounds. Going from a 6-6 type of program to 9-3 is much tougher.

70 plus teams go to bowls. Big ****ing deal.

We're going to have to agree to disagree on that.

Yes, but it's only been three years. Too early to be saying they've stalled out completely after consecutive 7-6 seasons.

I am pretty sure all Leash was trying to say is that Sarkisian has made tangible progress in his first three seasons. How can anyone really disagree with that statement? I agree that taking the step from bowl team to legit conference champion is hard, but going from 0-12 to a bowl team is not easy either.

Also, while Sarkisian did have Locker for two seasons, he also helped Keith Price finish #2 pass efficiency in the PAC-12 this season.

I think the Hawk years perfectly illustrate my point

True. But I wouldn't consider them "rising" after that Alamo performance on defense and the firing of coaches.

Not the greatest showing, but they were up against the Heisman trophy winner and they still almost won. I'm not sayign UDub is some national title contender, they have just shown a lot of improvement the last few years, yes thats right A LOT!

I guess.

Dont' get me wrong I'm not saying Sark is doing a bad job or should be fired. I'm just not overwhelmed by the results. I give him credit for shaking up his staff though in an attempt to get to the next level.

So, how hard is it to go from 3-10 to 7-5? Would it be a big ****ing deal for CU to go to a bowl next year?

Another surprise...Utah's class, and the team rank difference between Scout (#44 and two 4 stars) and Rivals (#28 and five 4 stars). ****ing Utes

How do you sell a parent that Snyder's going to be at KSU another 4 years? He's 72 years old.
