Watson played with current CU targets Torren Jones and Jarron Hopkins in the Arizona Super 80 tournament and that's how I found out CU had reportedly offered him:

As for Watson, he does his work from the wing and can finish above the rim as well. He currently holds offers from Colorado, Fresno State and Boise State with interest from Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State, Penn State and UNLV (all interested schools have watched him work out in the fall). Both Hopkins and Watson remain wide open in their recruitment, with both stating that they likely won't narrow things down until the end of their junior season (Watson) or summer (Hopkins).

Sounds like he's kind of a freak athlete, but a bit raw -- which explains the wide variation between the rankings above.

SLAM:

Paul Watson Jr. – This Phoenix native was one of the most versatile players that I got a chance to watch in this event. Watson showed a little bit of everything. From the ability to hit shots from behind the arc, to scoring at the rim in traffic. Although certainly far from being a hometown-kid, he seemed to have become a fan-favorite thanks to his freakish athleticism and impressive hops. Just like Fincher, Watson most definitely loves dunking the ball (didn’t keep count but I would say at least five in one game I saw).

Recap of the 2011 FullCourt Press All West Camp:

2013 Paul Watson Paradise Valley HS (Phoenix, AZ) - Watson continues to improve, the 6-foot-6 wing showed off a consistent jump shot, ball handling skill and his athletic ability that allows him to get to the rack and finish. Watson is one to watch as from here on out his stock will continue to rise.

Sounds like he was a bit of an unknown prospect until recently when he started playing on some major AAU tournaments with the Magic.

Prototypical Boyle recruit. Gonna be interesting to see where we go with this scholly.

Watson is a great kid. Went virtually unknown till he played with Hopkins on the Compton Magic team this past spring and summer. He plays the wing well, he is very athletic and has lots of bounce. However, he is still very raw and needs to work on his ball handling skills along with becoming a more consistent shooter. Has lots of upside.

Someone to keep an eye on. Not getting as much attention as the other Arizona kids for 2013, but Scout just put him in their top 100.

We are definitely his best offer at this point, too.

Ranked #1 in 2013 in arizona. Great Player. Skilled for his age and size, athletic. LOTS of high majors showing interest, LOTS OF UPSIDE, ranked 49 overall on rivals in 2013.

Verbal to Fresno State. Great pickup for them. He should excel there.
