His junior film should be out soon. Can't wait to see it.

CU's staff is talking to him. Nebraska's on him, too.

Bennett earned first-team all-league honors as a junior. He plays primarily at right tackle for Bear Creek but projects as an interior offensive lineman for college.

"I think I would most likely fit in at center at the next level," Bennett said. "I have a great offensive line coach at Bear Creek and he has emphasized my footwork. I have developed that and I feel like my feet are my best asset as an offensive lineman.

Not sure if it's true but I read on the rivals prep board that Bennett really likes CSU and Nebraska and hates CU (or something along those lines). TIFWIW

Might help that Brookhart is recruiting him then, since Brookhart went to CSU.

Don't know the deal now. I seem to remember that Bear Creek had a HC who wanted to go to CU and didn't get an offer. Went to CSU and never passed up the opportunity to badmouth CU. Don't remember who it was or know if he is still there but may have some influence on the culture.

Their HC, Tom Thenell, did go to CSU after a career at Mullen. However, I don't think he really bad mouths CU a whole lot. Even though Justin Holland went to CSU, he was leaning heavily CU for a bit. Shane Cook also played for Thenell.

I don't know how many more times i'm going to read about prep coaches that hate CU. Good lord. Sure would like some instate coaches to love us.

It won't take much to turn that around. These are grown men who are looking out for what's best for the kids that play for them. If Embree and staff prove to be straight shooters that do things the right way, they'll be on board.

I think what's hurt CU the most was that GB was well-known in the state's high school ranks and they felt the university did him wrong.

With these kids you want to be wanted if one school hasa scholly lined up and the other one is slow playing and wanting you to come to camp. When they have the same record on the field most kids won't wait.

With the limited amount of openings we have I don't think we need to stress about an unrated player wanting to go to CSU.

It looks like McElwain has Hawkin's dumbass policy of not offering in-staters until meeting them in person

Ramnation is saying he has committed. I don't really want to link over there.

Should be a really good player for them. He fits the profile of what they managed to recruit when they had success.

He looks like a big, strong mauler type but not really quick. Tackle in HS but not at college level, interior limeman instead, center looks to be his best bet. He had offers from Wyo and CSU, no other reported offers.

If we get Dane Crane then we won't miss him, if not then ?

Im not to worried about him. Its good to see the Rammies getting this type of player.

I agree. For the past few years, these guys were going to Wyoming. Good to see CSU recruiting the state again.

One thing I get from reading this board are complaints that local kids don't sign with the CU but when one signs at another school it's mentioned they are not "are kind of player or I'm not worried about him"! Jake is a great kid who is going to be an outstanding college player and I am very happy for him!

I think there would have been different responses from the board if CU had offered and he chose to attend csu

Nobody is knocking this kid. He seems like a nice player and should do well at CSU. Recruiting is a numbers game and there are higher rated prospects on the board. It's an early decision, so apparently Jake wanted to lock up a scholarship. Nothing wrong with that. Good luck to him in Ft. Collins.

Already has the CU hate, should make a good lamb. Enjoy the fort and good luck in the MWC.
