Browne plays for Skyline which is the same school that the #1 prospect Jake Heaps graduated from a couple years ago. So far Browne is outpacing heaps statistically and is likely going to be a much better player.

Time will tell but Max Browne is a great QB and it would not surprise me if he is the #1QB recruit in the nation when all is said and done... At recent camps (even UW) he was rumored to be better than Jeff Lindquist and Cyler Miles who are a class ahead of him.

He will certainly be a prize for whatever school signs him.

Max Browne went 40 of 53 for 459 yards and 3 TDs with 1 INT in a 56-46 loss to Lake Oswego.

Skyline is quickly becoming the LB Poly, Mater Dei, De La Salle of the Seattle/Bellevue area. Every year that school is rolling out great football players.

Browne is probably the best west coast QB prospect since Matt Barkley. I have seen random chatter on different sites that Stanford could be the team to beat.

I agree with BB that I think he's Stanford bound. Who wouldn't want to play behind Garnett, Peat and Murphy with Barry Sanders, Jr. in the backfield...

Ugh. Stanford bound that's going to be tough sledding for the rest of the Pac 12. If they get a Luck caliber QB back in the seat behind that OL... uh oh.

We kick them off the schedule for a few years after this season.

Do you know when he plans to announce his decision to head to Stanford?

So Stanford picked up a commit from QB Ryan Burns out of Virginia today so USC is probably the team to beat now and according to Rivals, Stanford pulled their offer to Browne.

UW fans have to be pissed about all these prospects leaving.

One never wants in-state talent to leave, especially the 5*s. Having said that, his presumed departure is hurting most fans a lot less than Banner, Garnett, Russell and Dozier from this year.

It hurts to miss out on elite QBs, but UW has some great young talent at the position so the loss hurts less. And UW recruited him well, but it seems as though he was dead set on leaving the state from the get-go. Hard to fault a kid for wanting to broaden their horizons a bit...

It's a demographics thing. Kids from the 'burbs in AZ, WA and CO have traveled a lot and likely don't have family ties to the in-state schools.

I only get really irritate when we lose kids to Nebraska. Nebraska? WTF?

It seems like the West suffers more from this than the East, especially the Southeast.

It seems like the West suffers more from this than the East, especially the Southeast.

A fair amount of kids in the Southeast go out of state for school, they just traditionally don't have much reason to go out of the region when you've got numerous powerhouses to choose from. In terms of demographics, though, the Southeast is right behind the West as the region with the most transients -- there has been a massive influx of people from the Northeast/Midwest into Florida (Miami, Tampa, Orlando etc), Georgia (mainly Atlanta metro), North Carolina (mainly Charlotte and Raleigh Triangle) and Virginia (mainly Northern Virginia). Seems like we're starting to see an increase in kids from the Southeast going out of the region. For instance, Stanford has already gained verbals from two of VA's top prospects for 2013.
