Huge kid who is going to get attention from all over. He was a standout at the LA Nike Camp in April.

@B2GSports Ron Allen

Orange Lutheran's standout OL John Lopez received another early offer today. This one came from the #Buffaloes of #Colorado HC John Embree.

Big kid who should get looks from most of the Pac-12. It will be interesting to see if schools look at him as a tackle or as a guard.

Biggest thing I saw from the film is the way he uses his hands. He gets into his man and extends his hands giving a great punch. This dude would be one scary guy coming towards you as a pulling guard. He seems to stay low and have good leverage in pass protection. I like his technique on draws where he allows his man to take himself out of the play and seals him off once out of position. Good looking prospect, can't wait to see another 2 years of film from him (since those are his sophomore highlights). Any word if he's moving to tackle for his senior year or will we get more guard footage from him?

With Sutton now committed does that help us with Lopez. I'd love to have both of them, make a nice guard/tackle combo.

Same HS, does anyone know if they are tight, can Sutton help turn him to us.

It helps. Sutton is working on him.

Did we offer him early??

Good news...he hasn't seen Boulder...LA and Seattle are pretty cool towns, but many kids have made the decision on Buffalo Highway coming over the hill and seeing the Flatirons. Plus his visit will be in the summer...a great time of year in CO!!!

Everyone offered him early. If we somehow win this one, it's all about relationships and putting in the work, not talent evaluation and being first in.

Also, the article also notes a Vandy offer.

Thanks. Updated his profile with current site ratings and put in the reported offers from Vanderbilt, Arkansas and Oregon State.

Thanks Nik. That makes 7 Pac12 offers now. I'm a little surprised Cal and Arizona didn't offer too.

Obviously would be a nice get, but getting a second player from Orange Lutheran would be pretty big as well.

Looks like it's down to UW and UCLA. He'll decide soon.

“I haven’t actually pinned down the exact date, but it’s going to be in the next week or so,” said Lopez, who is rated the No. 13 offensive guard in the country. “I have my strong pick right now, the way I’m leaning. But I’m just settling stuff, talking to my coaches, trying to tell everybody before I do anything. I’m in that kind of a phase right now.”

During The Opening at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. earlier this month, Lopez said he had his list down to Washington and UCLA. As the four-star recruit prepares to reveal his decision, it comes down to the same schools.

Almost certain to be UCLA.

As an aside, I think his ratings by Scout and 247 are closer to true than the other two services. Obviously a good prospect though.
