We're going to have a herd of buffalo in Boulder that people/recruits will be able to see from Hwy 36 as they top the mesa and come into town.

Thank you, Ted. This is way cool.

His Montana Grill is also a pretty good sponsor at the Coors Event Center and he has also donated the last two Ralphies.

Next step - be our sugar daddy. Doesn't "Folsom Field at Ted Turner Stadium" have a nice ring to it?

This is great news, Imagine how cool this will be on game day and for recruits rolling into town over that hill.

That's cool, I didn't even realize that Turner had ties to CO. I also like the fact that the piece of land that they will be living on is going to be left as is and isn't going to be ruined by being developed.

I believe his wife is an alumnus, and he's donated the last 3 ralphies to us.

Doesn't sound like he's interested in becoming a big time donor, but this is really badass and I think will pump up students, alumni and Recruits coming into town. Very nice

I worked on Turner's Flying D ranch in Montana, 60 miles outside Bozeman. Met Ted a few times. He is a cool guy and it doesn't surprise me one bit he would do something awesome like this for Boulder.

Yes how can it cost 100k a year to watch buffalo eat grass

They need to build a fence to keep them in. They would then need to hire a guy to maintain the fence. They would need to hire another guy to supervise the fence maintenance guy and yet another to do payroll for these two. That person would also need a supervisor and all of them would need assistants.

ONly in Boulder /shakes head

Edit: The Buffalo are going to trample the butterflies and the Orchids? Are they serious? IS there a single guy on that board that has ever shot a buffalo? Each member should be forced to go and take one of these beautiful creatures with a gorgeous, beautifully milled, American-made rifle and tell me then that we shouldn't be capturing them and placing them in their unnatural environment for the entertainment and pleasure of the fine tourists that descend into Boulder each year. Therapists they all are!

It's a shame.

I'm disappointed that CU didn't try to step up and provide support for this.

It seems to me this would have been a good use for some of that South Campus land that's going unused and may have been a backdooor way to getting water rights there so we can build more athletic facilities.

What Boulderite wouldn't have his or her heart bleed when Bohn plead the case of the poor, thirsty buffaloes?

I'm still puzzled how the county can easily find $1.5MM to buy a farm, but can't find $150,000 to care for a herd of buffalo.
