I'd love to believe we have a legitimate chance at this kid, but looking at that offer list, I'm not terribly optimistic. I would love to be wrong, though.

Tyree is also an amazing basketball player and he'd like to play both in college. Some reports are that he's leaning toward hoops. Regardless, Embree will need an assist from Boyle.

He's also got a twin brother, Tyrell, who is looking to play both in college, is also an amazing 2-sport athlete... and they want to go to college together.

Here's what Tyree's basketball profile would look like:

Put him on football scholarship and let him play both? Wow. That would be... um.. What's the word I'm looking for? Awesome? Yeah. That would be awesome.

Still not convinced we have much of a shot, given his unreal offer list.

I'm trying to figure out which are basketball offers and which are football on this. Robinson's a legit 3-4* combo guard. He has a scorer's mentality, but is a bit undersized and too turnover prone for the PG position. Great speed and aggressive. His stock has dropped a tiny bit lately, but he's still getting quite a bit of interest. ESPN has one hell of a quote on him in their profile:

Robinson may be the 2nd best scoring guard out west behind only Issac Hamilton.

Damn.

Think it might get narrowed down quite a bit considering their goal/plan of playing both sports and going to school together. Not all of these schools will have room in basketball, along with some dead basketball programs.

I hope you're right, but I still see a very uphill battle for these two. USC, UCLA, AZ, Cal, Stanford... well, hell just about every Pac 12 school has offered. Then throw in Missouri, Notre Dumb, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma for good measure. This isn't an uphill battle, it's a vertical battle.

Getting these two would top snaring two 4* CBs, but that happening provides some hope, although IIRC the offers weren't quite as lofty as these.

In addition to preparing for their final season of high school football, the brothers continue to weigh their college options. Tyree said they plan to announce their top five schools next week.
Tyree and Tyrell, who plan to play both football and basketball in college, would also like to visit Washington this season.

“They’re top,” Tyree said. “I talk to coach [Lorenzo] Romar, coach [Steve] Sarkisian all the time. They’re really on the same page with me and my brother coming there to play both. That’s great. I plan coming up there to visit Washington, too, very soon. Washington is in the mix."

Just gonna be honest... something fishy w/ Washington recruiting in both football and basketball. I'll give them credit but something seems awkward.

Lots of HS kids think the college is like a big HS and that they want to play both sports. Some coaches are more than willing to tell the kids what they want to hear about playing both.

Once they get on campus the coaches quickly change the tone of the conversation. A few guys have done well at both but it is pretty rare and seems to be getting rarer.

Embo and Boyle were doing the same thing according to AZ if I recall correctly.
