How is it that the United States is the most gun happy nation in the world. It could be argued that we have more people who own guns for recreational purposes than any other country, many of who take their shooting seriously and train and work at it.

We also have a huge number of people who have recieved training in arms in the military and in law enforcement.

With all that how do we not dominate the shooting contest in the olympics?

The same reason Colorado produces far fewer skiers in the traditional disciplines than you would suspect we would. Most people ski (and shoot) for recreation, not competition. I swear there are more skiers from California and New Hampshire on the team than from Colorado.

Maybe we need to get them to add a drive-by shooting event.

this would be a better question if asked of the Swiss who are far more heavily armed and trained than even the US population.
