Matt Prehm:

Big day for 2013 SG Jordan Mathews, offered by VCU and Colorado today. Lots of high majors on him including Oregon.

AAU teammate of Marcus Lee and Parker Jackson-Cartwright who both have CU offers. His dad is a UCLA men's basketball assistant coach, but UCLA isn't showing him a whole lot of love right now. Along with the offers, he's getting heavy interest from Indiana, Gonzaga, Cal, Butler and Kansas. Sounds like he tore it up a bit at the EYBL event two weekends ago.

Rivals:

California Supreme can lay claim to two of the nation's quickest rising and most talked about prospects. We started talking about Marcus Lee back in the winter and the 6-foot-9 big man from Antioch (Calif.) Deer Valley hasn't disappointed. He's still rough around the edges, but could be on his way to five-star status. Teammate Jordan Matthews a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Santa Monica (Calif.) High has always been a solid three-star. Now, he's going to be tough to keep out of the rankings and could push for a fourth star.

Rivals again:

That's not to say that Miles Simon's group doesn't have talent, though, because they aren't lacking that department either. Four-star sophomore point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright ranks No. 25 in the class of 2014. Three-star junior big man Torren Jones ranks No. 120 in 2013 while three-star junior shooting guard Jordan Matthews has been on a scoring and shooting tear that has him pushing hard for the Rivals150.

Adam:

One reason Mathews is intrigued by the Buffs is a player on Colorado's roster that he had the chance to see in high school.

"I remember watching Carlon Brown when he was out here at Riverside. I've been able to see him play a little bit and I watched them in the tournament. They were impressive," he said.

Re: '13 CA SG Jordan Matthews

Cal is putting together a really nice class this year. Might be close to the top 10 when all the dust settles.
