ESPN lists it as Brianna with two N's, but Brian Howell has confirmed it's only one. He's also the one who confirmed her committment. He also says she's 6'4" and not the 6'2" that ESPN is reporting. According to MaxPreps, last year's numbers were 5.9 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 30.3 FT% (20-66), 49.3% on 2-pt shots on an 18-9 team. Howell also says Utah and Washington State were after her, but Coach Lappe won her over.

I highly recommend following Howell on twitter, as he's posting info as he finds it -- https://twitter.com/BrianHowell33

HoopGurlz says she's raw and has potential, but needs to work out the rough edges. She should be able to provide some low post strength for the Buffs though.

Welcome Briana!!!

That's causing mass confusion -- both here & on twitter -- so I'm going to change it. Sorry guys.

Our #1 need was some muscle in the front court. This is going to give us much better matchup options in the PAC-12. Excited for this one.

Happy Camper here. We need a big, strong body in the post! Welcome Briana! We need you, we really need you.

Stats from last season per Howell: Briana Watts stats last yr (by http://Maxpreps.com ): 5.9 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 30.3 FT% (20-66), 49.3% on 2-pt shots on an 18-9 team

Not liking the FT percentage. Hope Lappe told her to work on her FT shooting.

Looks like I pulled a Buffnik!!!!! .... Went away for a few days and the WBB team gets a verbal from a 2013 post player. Way to go, coaches. Welcome to CU Briana. The Camera article says that her stats from last year were on a perimeter oriented team. The team she will be playing on for her senior season sounds like it will be more post oriented so we should get a better idea of how she works on the low post. Clearly needs to improve the free throws but it sounds like she is already working on that.

Article sounds like it is a good move that she will be playing on a different team her senior year of high school.

BlueStar has her rated as #181 in the 2013 class.
It does sound like her new high school will be a better fit for her and should help her development.
