The recipe calls for 50 cups of chicken stock. So I wanted to see how long it would take to get 50 cups of water to boil. About a half hour. This thing is incredible. 50 cups of water fills about 1/3 of the pot. I'm going to do a test run on the pot this weekend at the local food charity. It will be interesting to see how many people I can feed with this thing, and how long it keeps the food warm. The propane tank is full, and I'm ready to roll.

Thanks again to the junta for this fine piece of equipment. I promise to treat it well.

I can usually get 6 gallons to a full boil (200 degrees here) in about 20 minutes if I have my burner cranked. What burner are you using?

I wasn't cranking up the burner. I expect I could get it to a boil much faster. I was raising the heat slowly as it was the first time the pot had ever been used and I didn't want to shock the cast iron.

re-seasoned this morning. Looking good.
