Important week. Soccer and Volleyball need some wins.

Interesting note on Tennis is that it is struggling as a college sport. The state of US junior tennis is not good, the best players turn pro, and there just aren't enough good ones to go around after that. Our squad needs to be at least half international if we want to have a top program. Stack that recruiting budget on top of the facility costs for winter practice and the single-purpose courts that have to be built -- it's a damn expensive sport to be good at compared to the revenue and fan interest it generates.

Recruiting international players is probably the biggest thing in tennis these days. Also, I think most schools these days have indoor facilities so it definitely would get expensive.

Looks like the soccer team lost 3-2 1:33 into OT. Also, the 11-5 volleyball game vs 9-8 Wash St is currently underway.

The Buffs take the first set 25-17. If they keep this up, they should have no problem getting past WSU.

In tennis, I was finally able to find some more information. The teams competing at the AFA invitational are Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Northern Colorado, Wyoming, Eastern Michigan, Arizona, Oklahoma State, Illinois, South Dakota State, Texas Tech, Oregon and Washington State.
The doubles teams finished in 2nd, 3rd, and 10th with singles finishing today. http://www.cubuffs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=4212&SPID=271&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=205706896&DB_OEM_ID=600

In soccer, 1-0 CU at the 63 min mark. This would be a huge upset over the #2 team in the country.

Stanford wins 2-1. A little disappointing since we had such a good chance to win with 10 minutes left.

In volleyball, the Buffs get swept by undefeated Washington 25-17, 25-16, 25-22

Yeah that was volleyball. But the soccer team did lose today to #2 Stanford.

I can deal with loses to the #2 shool in the country in most sports.

Hell the Volley ball team lost to #2 in the country by a combined 20 points - our football team would lose by what? Triple that?

(i do realize how flawed the comparison is)

I definitely agree especially with the scores being relatively close. But the disappointing thing about soccer was that they led 1-0 with about 10 mins left and Stanford scored 2 goals in 37 seconds.

Also looked like soccer had a very good chance to get another goal per the highlights...one that I would expect a scholarship soccer player to put away. My 12 year olds - not always, but at this level - absolutely.
