HS & AAU teammate of 2016 big man De'Ron Davis, Austin could be a big time recruit himself. CU, Arizona, Indiana and Michigan are all recruiting him already.

A strong team effort from the Eric Gordon All Stars was too much for the Hawks to overcome in the championship game, but Conway was one of the better looking prospects in the game. He has tremendous speed with the basketball, constantly putting pressure on the defense.
Colorado and Arizona are the two schools recruiting him at this stage.

Neglecting class balance - Conway would be arriving a year after Collier and/or Perkins. So the timing of their decision shouldn't really impact Conway.

It does and it doesn't. If we land both Perkins & Collier, then hypothetically we could be looking at the following depth chart for Conway's first year:

Stalzer	Talton*	Collier Perkins	Conway

Now, this chart is assuming that Talton redshirts (which I think he will) and that we don't land any other PG's in the next 2 classes (even though we're trying hard to get Jaron Hopkins and are looking at some other PG's in the 2014 class as well). That means that over 1/3 of our scholarships will be used up by PG's. Now, I love playing with two PG's on the court at the same time, but none of those guys are The Mayor's height. So it does lead to potential matchup problems.

Now that said, I want all three of those guys (Collier, Perkins & Conway) to be Buffs. They're all great players, and they're home state kids, so it increases a little bit of pride for them to play here and leads to others wanting to stay here. Plus, I'll take a lineup that has tons of talented PG's over a "balanced" lineup that is throwing out stiffs elsewhere. Talent > Position. But I can understand how some might be conflicted by all of the PG's we're going after from CO.

In college ball you can get away with it. An example that was pointed out to me earlier today was the 2005 Illinois squad. 6'1" Dee Brown, 6'3" Luther Head and 6'3" Deron Williams all started.

Collier's 6'3" according to scout, and only a sophomore. He probably grows 2-3 more inches I imagine, which puts him in a better situation to play the two.

Overall, having too many point guards is a good problem to have. There's also no guarantee that Collier and Perkins both sign in 2014. Everyone's hoping they do, but a lot of things could change over the next couple seasons.

If Dimwiddie and Booker keep improving as players, and stay for their senior season, there's no guarantee Colorado will be a situation where Collier and/or Perkins would get considerable playing time as freshmen. Maybe that's important to them. Maybe it's not as much.

We're in a situation now where a top freshmen is likely to vie for minutes. If Boyle keeps taking this program somewhere it hasn't been (at least in my lifetime) that might not be the case.

So many factors that come into play, and some also depends if Collier and Perkins explode more then they already have. Getting the local kids is incredibly important for the program, and probably CU's best chance of getting a five star player to join the program

Yeah, this is what I was getting at. Just the crowded depth chart, especially considering Jenkins and XJ (assuming both play 4 years) are wings and it looks like we'll take at least one, maybe two more wings this year. The front line just starts to get really thin in that scenario. I'd be doing cartwheels if we land all three, I'm just not sure the staff will feel like they have that luxury. The good news, though, is there's enough depth there, and they're all high enough on the Buffs, that there's a good chance we land 2 of the 3 and PG is locked down for the foreseeable future.

Missouri uses a small line up and has been successful in the past few years. So I'll take overall talent any day off the week. Also getting this kid could help us with Deron Davis the next year. Who we all know I possibly the best big in the country for his age group.

Here's an article William did in December that talks about him playing both sports and how he hasn't made up his mind which way he'll go. I think you need a Rivals sub though.

Also, I think it was either William or Adam that mentioned a couple weeks ago that, at the time, Conway said he would be signing his LOI in February 2015. It's nothing concrete, and a lot can change in the next 18 months, but football's definitely in the picture.

Honestly it is kind of crazy to see how much the in-state CO talent has improved over the last 5 years ago. Big help to the growth of our program to have this many high major league prospects cropping up in our backyard.

It will be interesting to see what the impact is on HS basketball in CO as Tad continues to have success, especially if he can do it getting the best CO kids at CU. It also looks like CSU is going to have a decent coach for a while (Eustacy (sp.) is a solid coach who isn't going to be in big demand due to age and history) and even Wyo is pretty solid. Add in DU going D1 a couple of years ago and recruiting CO kids.

With having solid college BB in the area it should help the HS game.

They get to play more ball and get more and better coaching and they get to face better competition.

HS BB is now for "fun" and for playing with the kids in your neighborhood or who you grew up with. AAU is where you face real competition and where the college coachs go to watch for talent. No more 20 game HS seasons with long Christmas breaks and facing only one other "big", the whole time you're HS!

HS Basketball just went the way HS baseball and soccer did, many moons ago.

This kid has speed and very decent handles; imagine that speed in Boulder, playing Boyle's style of "D" and running the up-tempo transition "O" we all know Tad would like to run again.

Eustacy is 57 and that's not going to limit his ability to find work elsewhere.

He's at CSU on a rehab assignment. If he doesn't get a new job this offseason, he will have to prove himself with his "own guys" over the next 2-3 years and he WILL be gone.
